What You'd Actually Do
You will serve as a Data Scientist in the Command Data Office (CDO) of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Key Duties
- You will serve as a senior authoritative source on tasks requiring analytical techniques to analyze complex data relationships, identify innovative ideas, and develop objective evaluation criteria.
- You will oversee and lead multiple project teams and professional data specialists across INDOPACOM by providing broad oversight and guidance.
- You will develop thoughtful recommendations for implementing solutions to strengthen the INDOPACOM's overall data governance.
- You will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of an organization based on data findings to improve operations.
- You will advise senior leaders and staff on the proper tools and formats for analyzing data for mission management.
- You will develop training, marketing, and other tools as a means of increasing knowledge of data management and data analysis within the INDOPACOM community You will provide advice and counseling to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Qualifications
- In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Data Scientist experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying a broad range of data analysis, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures; 2) Working with large and complex data sets to perform extensive analysis of volumes of data through macros and pivot tables; 3) Designing and delivering frameworks to facilitate data development; 4) Using various data integration services and data visualization tools to accurately represent data.
