What You'd Actually Do
This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will serve as Budget Analyst Team Lead performing a variety of budget functions including execution and monitoring of prior and current fiscal year budgets.
Key Duties
- As a BUDGET ANALYST at the GS-0560-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Performs budget formulation involving preparation of detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year budget estimates for assigned organizations/programs into a consolidated budget request.
- Performs budget execution and administration involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding.
- Provides assistance and guidance on budgeting and related information.
- Conducts analyses, review and special studies of budget and/or related information.
- Performs specialized individual economic analyses and impact studies in support of a variety of budget programs.
Qualifications
- You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Presenting, developing, justifying, executing, and monitoring budgets and financial plans to properly fund and meet resource requirements.
- Providing financial analysis of budget-related issues, to include budget strategies and techniques to meet changing priorities and resource allocations.
- Applying results of financial/budget related analysis to solve problems and make recommendations.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
- Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
- You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
